DON’T GET DESERTED IN THE DESERT
Standards: NGSS.SCIENCE MS-ESS2-6
You have been studying with your fellow scientists in the Gobi Desert in Asia. You have been studying many things about deserts: desertification (the growth of deserts), temperatures, flora (plants), fauna (animals), weather patterns, etc. You and the other scientists have gathered a lot of information in the 2 weeks you have been on location. One morning, you arrive in the tent for breakfast and discover a chaotic situation. It seems that one of your scientist friends has stolen your research and deserted you in the desert with no way of getting out. He left you and the others the following letter: Greeting “scientists,”, I can’t believe you trusted me! HAHAHA! The joke is on you! I have made copies of all of your research and hidden it, along with the keys to the vans. I plan to turn in all your research as my own and take all the credit! I plan to turn in everything to the United States Desert Research Department. I’ll be at the airport in 45 minutes. Just for fun, I have left you a series of riddles to try to find your research and the keys to the van, but I’m sure there is no way you can do it in time to stop me! Your “friend,” Magoo Pudding Desert Scientist
