Dr. Pearl E. White, a local and prominent dentist, believes that Halloween is ruining kids' teeth. He has appealed to the town to replace all trick-or-treating candy with toothbrushes. The village agreed to accept this change if he got 500 signatures from the good townspeople. Dr. White worked day and night, threatening to pull the teeth of anyone who did not sign and obtained his 500 signatures. He put the petition in a chest for safekeeping until the town hall meeting today. The only way to stop this new law from going into effect is to break into the chest and destroy the petition!
